"Gardening is the Hmong way of life. In Laos and Thailand, there weren't too many stores around, so we had to grow our own food.
Here, if you go to a store for vegetables, you don't know how long they've been there or what chemicals are on them. At the garden, we can go anytime and pick fresh vegetables. Freshness is important to us."
